Text Box: Arts for Youth

The Arts for Youth program was developed by the Brewton Council of the Arts to ensure that every school age child has the opportunity to experience live theatre and professional performances by touring artists. By bringing the artists to the children during their regular school day, each and every child gets to share in the experience. This program reaches out to our students from preschool through high school.

Each year over 500 preschool children and 2000 elementary school children will see a live play. These productions are provided at no cost to the schools. Brewton Middle School and Neal Middle School receive financial help each year to take their students to the Alabama Shakespeare Festival in Montgomery. Touring artists make visits to both T.R. Miller High School and Neal High School.

The Brewton Council of the Arts believes that a love of the arts begins when young minds are given the opportunity to experience the arts.

This program is made possible
by a generous grant from
Smurfit Stone Container Corporation
