Brewton Council of the Arts

bringing the arts to the greater Brewton area

Home

Welcome to the Brewton Council of the Arts website!

The Brewton  Council of the Arts has been dedicated to supporting the arts in the greater Brewton area for over thirty years. The council brings  Broadway shows and special events; professional artists in theatre, dance, music, to Brewton in an effort to provide quality entertainment and cultural opportunities for our community. This season is no exception. An amazing line-up is planned — one that is sure to please the whole family!

In addition to our Performance Series, the Brewton Council of the Arts sponsors a variety of other programs and events to encourage the arts and enhance our      community. The Youth Art Show is held every spring to showcase artwork by school-age children throughout Escambia County. All school winners are displayed at the Library and YMCA. A panel of judges selects the County winners. Each year a Fine Arts Scholarship is awarded to an area student who has declared a major in the Arts. The Arts for Youth program brings live theatre and artists to our area students during the school day at no cost to the schools. During the Christmas season, the Arts Council shares its’ holiday spirit by decorating D.W. McMillan Hospital with festive children’s art and Brewton City Park with memorable holiday scenes.

The Brewton Council of the Arts strives to bring a variety of programs to our public school systems and live theater performances to the surrounding communities at a price that is affordable to all families. Please look around our website to see the wonderful productions that make up our 2007-2008 Performance Series. We hope to see you and your family at one of the shows.
